This morning in Cocowalk, Roy Foster started off his day giving a speech about veteran care, when he got the surprise of a lifetime. As he addressed the crowd for what he thought was a press conference he was interrupted by a man dressed in an elaborate genie costume. “Roy Foster! I’m the dream Genie and this is your dream day.” The blue man said over a megaphone.

La gran estrella colombiana es una pequeña mujer que ha creado y aún maneja hasta el más mínimo detalle de una gigante industria personal en la que el CEO es su novio.
Kevin Lyne, el encargado de la imagen televisiva de Shakira, está sentado en el suelo mirando el monitor. Es un tipo bajito y flaco, bronceado por el sol de Miami de donde es oriundo, y tiene ojos azules profundos y tantas arrugas que parece uno de esos rock stars viejos con muchos conciertos a cuestas. Lleva una camiseta negra sin mangas, una pañoleta en la cabeza y una gorra. Es evidente que algo lo estresa: los encuadres de las cámaras, el manejo de las luces. Da instrucciones en inglés y los camarógrafos, que no entienden, intentan traducir sus gestos. “Shakira ya viene”, anuncian las jefes de prensa que caminan de un lado a otro con un celular adherido a la oreja [y en ocasiones otro que timbra con insistencia en la otra mano], y Kevin vuelve a mirar el monitor y a repetir, más alterado, las instrucciones.
